The Neighbors' Window - Oscar Winning Short Film

THE NEIGHBORS’ WINDOW (written & directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Marshall Curry) tells the story of a mother (Maria Dizzia) who has grown frustrated with her husband (Greg Keller) and her daily routine. But her life is shaken up when two free-spirited twenty-somethings move in across the street and she discovers that she can see into their apartment. (Marshall Curry's other films)

NOTE: There are quiet scenes that work much better with headphones if you watch on a computer.

I see this with a different pair of eyes. This is how religious free people seem. Like they are having so much fun. Sleeping with anyone, hanging out with friends and us religious folks are reading the Bible listening to God. Working with our mate even though times get rough. Living a simple life. But at the end the Godless people are literally heading towards death. They are unhappy, most drink or smoke away their problems. The others fill their time watching movies and watching games to escape the world today. And us God loving people are talked about but we have peace. We don’t have the riches but we have the peace now. And even though some of us will die, we will have the opportunity to be resurrected and finally live the real life.

I felt this movie maybe smacked us over the head a little hard with the HE'S DYING thing. They could have shown them fighting and he leaves for good, and they show her alone and crying, then they run into each other. I feel like cancer is overdone as a plot device to kill off younger people because it's one of the few things that does. Car crashes and cancer. What are they going to do when self-driving cars have taken over and cancer can be cured with a vaccine? The family robot kills someone?

They thought that their neighbors being young everything was fine with them and they were there ones dealing with real life problems and the hassle of growing old. They watched through the window like outsiders to this whole experience whilst imagining how it felt to be young again, free of the strain that time eventually brings to our lives until the unfortunate happens for their neighbor and it's like a wake up call.
